Blog Plans

Okay, we have danced around this problem since I started the blog (you know, two days ago...) I am fully aware of what has happened in past blogs. I am a flake. I know that. I know you all, my faithful followers, rely on me to sustain your wonderful quality of vicarious life through my daily posts. And I have let you down.

So, I have worked with my CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy coach) and my family to help plan for this blog, and to figure out what went wrong in previous trips and how I should fix it.

1) The elaborate posts
The posts I made were hilarious and amazing. They were awesome and filled with humor and sentimentality and everything in the middle. And these blogs lasted about a week of these awesome posts, then fell flat very quickly. I felt a pressure to keep up with the awesomeness, and each post of that type took over an hour to create. And I just don't have that kind of time when we are experiencing Europe in 14 hour days and I need at least 10 hours of sleep. The math just doesn't add up.

Solution
Each day I will write a short post, approximately 10 lines or 7 sentences.

2) My initial excitement
I was always super psyched to start writing this blog. I'd have big plans and it was fun and awesome and exciting...but then it would become less exciting, and I lost the motivation and the incentive. So I brainstormed with my dad and my CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) coach, and we came up with what I think is a fantastic plan.

Solution
Each week (or another allotted amount of time) will have a theme, for example, architecture. I will write about that theme for that week and then switch themes the next week. This is a way to keep the blog fresh and exciting and fun for me throughout the trip. And I will be keeping a small notebook in my purse to jot down ideas for future weeks if I happen to see them. I will be posting the list of themes in the next post.

Hope you all will enjoy this blog!

With love from New York City,
Rivi
